BabyEye is provided for simulation and general information purposes only. Visual simulations, developmental milestones, growth charts, and educational content are approximations based on typical research patterns โ they are not medically accurate for any individual child.
Every child develops differently. This App is not a medical device and must not be used for diagnosis, screening, or treatment decisions. Always consult a qualified paediatrician or paediatric ophthalmologist for medical concerns.

0Simulation & Educational Use
BabyEye helps parents and caregivers explore how infant vision may develop over time through camera-based simulations and educational content. These features support curiosity and learning โ not clinical assessment.
- Vision simulations apply artistic and scientific approximations; they cannot reproduce any individual baby's exact visual experience.
- Milestone timelines reflect population averages, not predictions for your child.
- Growth charts use WHO reference data for comparison only โ not a substitute for professional monitoring.
1Information We Collect
All data is stored locally on your device only. Nothing is transmitted to our servers. Here is a complete summary:
| Data | Where stored | Sent externally? | Purpose |
|---|---|---|---|
| Baby's name | Device (SharedPreferences) | Never | Personalise the app |
| Baby's date of birth / age | Device (SharedPreferences) | Never | Calculate vision stage & schedule milestone reminders |
| Growth measurements (weight, length, head) | Device (SharedPreferences) | Never | Display WHO growth chart |
| Saved moments (photos) | Device (app documents folder) | Never | Vision Log gallery |
| Notification permission flag | Device (SharedPreferences) | Never | Avoid repeating permission prompt |
| Legal consent flag | Device (SharedPreferences) | Never | Record that Terms were accepted |
| Ad identifiers (GAID / IDFA) | Google AdMob SDK | Google only | Display relevant ads โ see ยง5 |
2Camera & Face Detection
BabyEye requests camera access to power the real-time baby vision simulator. Camera frames are processed entirely on-device in real time and are never uploaded.
- Vision simulation โ the live camera feed is filtered on-device to simulate infant visual development stages.
- Distance estimation โ BabyEye uses Google ML Kit Face Detection (on-device, no internet required) to estimate how far a face is from the camera and show a HUD indicator. Face data is processed in memory and immediately discarded โ no face images or biometric data are stored or transmitted.
- Camera images are never saved without your explicit tap on the capture button.
- Camera access can be revoked at any time in device Settings.
3Notifications
If you provide your baby's date of birth and your baby is under 5 months old, BabyEye may ask for permission to send local push notifications for vision development milestones (e.g. "1 Month โ colour vision awakening").
- Notifications are scheduled locally on your device using the OS notification scheduler โ no data is sent to any server.
- We store only a boolean flag on your device recording whether you were asked for permission.
- You can disable notifications at any time in device Settings โ Notifications โ BabyEye.
- Notification permission is entirely optional; the app works fully without it.
4Saved Moments (Photos)
When you tap the capture button, a photo is saved locally in your app's private storage. These photos are:
- Stored only on your device โ not in any cloud service or our servers.
- Accessible only within the BabyEye app (Vision Log).
- Permanently deleted when you clear moments via Settings โ Clear Saved Moments, or when you uninstall the app.
We have no access to your saved photos at any time.
5Advertising (Google AdMob)
BabyEye displays advertisements powered by Google AdMob. Google may collect device identifiers and usage signals to serve relevant ads in accordance with Google's own Privacy Policy.
- Google's data collection is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
- We do not share your baby's name, birth date, health data, or photos with AdMob or any advertiser.
iOS App Tracking Transparency (ATT)
On iOS 14.5 and later, BabyEye requests Apple's App Tracking Transparency permission before any advertising identifier is accessed. If you deny permission, AdMob will serve non-personalised ads instead. You can change this at any time in iOS Settings โ Privacy & Security โ Tracking โ BabyEye.
GDPR & CCPA โ Consent (Google UMP)
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, Switzerland, or a regulated US state (California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah), BabyEye uses Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) SDK to present a consent form before loading any advertisements. You may change or withdraw your ad-consent choices at any time by contacting us.
Opt out of personalised ads
- iOS โ Settings โ Privacy & Security โ Tracking โ disable for BabyEye, or Settings โ Privacy & Security โ Apple Advertising โ Personalised Ads off.
- Android โ Settings โ Google โ Ads โ Delete advertising ID.
6Children's Privacy
BabyEye is designed for parents and caregivers of infants, not for use by children directly. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13.
The app does not require registration, does not include social features, and does not transmit personal data. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us immediately and we will delete it.
We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and applicable children's privacy regulations globally.
7Data Security
Since BabyEye stores all personal data locally on your device, security is primarily protected by your device's own features. We recommend:
- Using a screen lock (PIN, Face ID, or fingerprint).
- Keeping your device OS up to date.
- Reviewing which apps have camera or notification access periodically.
